In June, Her Majesty The Queen travels by carriage from Windsor Castle to Ascot races every day for five days. This journey is 8 miles there and 8 miles back, taking 4 ½ hours in total.

Throughout the meeting, the liveried postillion riders wear the Ascot livery of red and blue, based on the royal racing colours. The livery is also worn on other ceremonial occasions when Full State livery would be inappropriate.
